Keeneland: Zenyatta half-sister among 3,919 in November catalog

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Keeneland has cataloged 3,919 horses to its November mixed sale, which will take place Nov. 7-17.

Catalogs will be available online beginning Oct. 4, and hard copies will be in the mail during the week of Oct. 17.

Racing fans will find one lot in the catalog especially intriguing. She is a weanling Henreythenavigator filly who is a half-sister to the 2010 Horse of the Year, Zenyatta, and Grade 1 winner Balance. The Select Sales agency will consign the bay filly.

The 2011 auction also will include dispersals from the late Edward P. “Ned” Evans’s Spring Hill Farm and the late Prince Saud bin Khaled’s Palides Investments. The second Tuesday session on Nov. 15 also will feature horses in training from WinStar Farm, Thoroughbred Legends, and others.

Stallion shares to such noted sires as Smart Strike, Lemon Drop Kid, Pleasantly Perfect, Posse, Aragorn, and Belong to Me also will go under the hammer at the end of the opening session on Nov. 7.

The catalog consists of 1,991 broodmares or broodmare prospects, 1,518 weanlings, 398 racing-age horses, and five stallions.

Sessions will start at 10 a.m. daily at Keeneland’s sale pavilion.
