A Tapit colt continued the stellar run for his sire at the Keeneland September yearling sale on Thursday, selling for $1.1 million to Shadwell Farm.

The colt was consigned by Clearsky Farms, as agent.

“Big, nice strong colt," said Shadwell vice president and general manager Rick Nichols, who signed the ticket. "He looked like he’ll run. It’ll be up to the boss [where he goes for early training]. He’ll come shortly and have a look and decide where he’s going to put everything."

The colt became the third yearling by Tapit to sell for seven figures at the Keeneland September yearling sale this week, and the second of the day, joining a $1.2-million colt sold to Coolmore earlier. The son of Pulpit, who stands at Gainesway Farm, is the current leading general sire of 2014, with runners on the track including Belmont Stakes winner Tonalist and Kentucky Oaks winner Untapable.

The colt also helped continue brisk trade on Thursday, as he was the fourth yearling of the day to sell for $1 million or more, and the 11th overall at this sale.

Shadwell's new purchase is out of the Grade 3-placed stakes winning Mr. Greeley mare Foxy Danseur. She is the dam of one starter, who is winless in one start.

Out of the winning Wild Again mare Ravish Me, Foxy Danseur is a half sister to stakes placed Elle a Gent. It is the family of Grade 1 winner and stakes producer Personal Business.
