Nat Rea, a new face at the top levels of the bloodstock market this year, continued his activity during Monday’s opening session of the Keeneland September yearling sale, with the early purchases for his Regis Farms highlighted by a $1.1 million son of late sire Unbridled’s Song.

Rea also purchased a $700,000 son of Candy Ride and a $400,000 daughter of Tiznow in the early going.

“He's a special horse, and you don't need to say anything about Unbridled's Song,” said Richard Hogan, bloodstock agent for Rea. “He's the kind of horse that if he could be a graded stakes winner, you could stand him.”

Rea’s seven-figure colt, who was consigned by Bedouin Bloodstock, agent, sold as Hip no. 110. He is out of the Smoke Glacken mare Irish Smoke, winner of the Grade 1 Spinaway Stakes as a juvenile. Her lone starter is One Foxy Grey,

Out of the winning Gilded Time mare Added Time, Irish Smoke is a half-sister to stakes winner King Puma, as well as to Clever Babe, the dam of Grade 1 winner Book Review.
