Keeneland: Ramseys tie victory record

Email

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Ken and Sarah Ramsey tied the record for most wins by an owner at a Keeneland meet, either spring or fall, when Friday victories from Hollywood Talent in race 5 and Animal Style in race 7 pushed their meet-leading tally to 12 victories.

They had a chance in the featured Doubledogdare to get the outright record, but their runners, Sisterhood and Artemus Kitten, ran second and third, respectively.

Their 12 victories currently match a mark set by Calumet Farm in the spring of 1941, and equaled by Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Roberts in the fall of 1968 and the Ramseys last fall.

With a week of racing remaining at Keeneland, the Ramseys appear highly likely to eventually garner sole possession of the record before the meet concludes Apr. 26. They are well on their way to another owner’s title at Keeneland, which would give them 13, second most in history behind T. A. Grissom’s 14 owner titles.
