Keeneland November: Grade 1 winner Photo Call sells for $3 million to New Castle

Email

Grade 1 winner Photo Call sold for $3 million to J.J. Crupi's New Castle Farm, on behalf of an undisclosed client, to take over the lead at the Keeneland November breeding stock sale on Tuesday.

The daughter of international leading sire Galileo was consigned by Denali Stud, as agent. Offered as a racing or broodmare prospect, she will remain in training and be sent to the care of trainer Todd Pletcher.

Photo Call ended her season in good order, winning the Grade 3 Violet Stakes at Monmouth Park, followed by a rallying score in the Grade 1 Rodeo Drive Stakes on the opposite coast. She most recently finished a creditable fifth in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf. Overall, she has won or placed in five stakes, and has won at distances from seven furlongs to 1 1/4 miles.

Photo Call is out of the Group 3-winning Rock of Gibraltar mare Theann, who is a half-sister to two other stakes winners.
