Keeneland Babies for Sunday

Email

Welcome to Keeneland Babies! This meet should be a challenge for the 2-year-olds as many will race over Polytrack for the first time. I'll break down the numbers for every juvenile contest at the meet, and hopefully will improve on the profits made with "Spa Babies." Good luck!

Analysis:
RAVEL's dam is Grade 2 winner Let, a juvenile debut winner, and earner of over 600K. Ravel sold for 950K as a yearling, and will go out for the deadly Pletcher barn. His Keeneland works look sharp so expect this colt to come out running. FORTY GRAMS also debuts for excellent first-out barn, and his sire does very well with debuters. A 300K yearling purchase, Forty Grams was bought back for 475K earlier this year. Shows a bullet work over the Polytrack. CASTILLO DEL SOL goes out for underrated barn, and he earned a solid debut Beyer at Arlington. Must deal with layoff, but his dam was a multiple stakes-placed earner of over 225K. TEUFLESBERG figures to take plenty of support based on neck defeat to leading 2-year-old Scat Daddy in the Grade 2 Sanford, but he was getting very tired in the late stages of that race, and failed to reproduce that form in his subsequent starts. Should appreciate dropping down in class and distance, but the value just may not be there.

The Bet: Ravel to Win (2-1 odds or more)
