ANALYSIS:
KEEPING MY FOCUS raced a bit greenly after breaking from the inside post in her career debut, but kept on well to finish second behind runaway debut winner Nina Fever.  That experience should help this filly against a bunch of first-time starters.
MISS JENNA may want a bit more ground, but it looks like she may have worked in company with an older stablemate on March 27.  She'll be a big price for low-profile connections.
FINAL MESA and TRIBAL STRIKE both boast obvious merits, going out for the high-percentage Wesley Ward barn.  The former is a half-sister to Uncle Camie, a New York-bred that popped a 109 Beyer Speed Figure in winning the Grade 3 Bold Ruler Handicap at six furlongs.  Tribal Strike's half-brother, Strike the Tiger, not only won his career debut at this distance at Churchill Downs last year, but he successfully invaded Royal Ascot, winning the Windsor Castle Stakes on grass for these connections.
CHAMPAGNE TOMMIE has a speed pedigree.  Her first-crop sire, Henny Hughes, earned a 113 Beyer winning the Grade 1 Vosburgh at six furlongs while the unraced dam is a half-sister to Groovy, the champion sprinter of 1987.  LEATHER LACES' dam won sprint stakes races in Colorado and New Mexico.  You have to respect Steve Asmussen first-out, but this filly shows a 17-day gap between the last two published workouts.   BACH HAMILTON's dam was stakes-placed going long on the turf.  The connections have sent out a longshot debut winner at the meet.  MINON's pedigree leans to turf.
