Analysis:
Several of GONE DIXIE GONE's earlier workouts match up with Rusty Arnold's A Diehl, a four-year-old gelding that returned from a six-month layoff to win an entry-level allowance over the polytrack on October 16 with an 88 Beyer Speed Figure.  The dam has already produced 10 winners, and the sire has been hot with debut runners in 2009.
LUYU is a filly tackling the boys for her career debut, but she gave a "sharp gate workout by herself, galloped out in 1:00," according to the Keeneland Clocker Report for October 11.  On October 25, she reportedly gave a "good useful work, continues to go well." Juvenile fillies can beat the boys this time of year, and Luyu is bred both sides for speed.
GALIENTOS worked a furlong in less than ten seconds prior to being bought back for $290,000 earlier this year.  The barn has already sent out a whopping 39 debut winners in 2009, but the sire has been a bit cold with debut runners this season.
CHIEF COMPLAINT adds Lasix for the second lifetime start, and that's a powerful angle in maiden races.  The Presque Isle Downs shippers have performed very well at the meet, and Chief Complaint finished directly ahead of a runner that returned to finish third in a $40,000 maiden claimer here on yesterday's card.
EL COMMODORE had some trouble on the main track at Saratoga two back, and then was very rank in the early portion of his two-turn debut on the lawn.  Expect him to rally from off the pace turning back to this six-furlong sprint.  NINEWAYHIT's dam, Big Bambu, was a fleet filly, earning six triple-digit Beyer Speed Figures in sprint distances.  Mr. Lukas has been cold all meet, but it looks like this filly has been picking up the pace in her last few workouts. LIVINGTHEGOODLIFE draws a tough inside post after finishing well back at big odds in the slower division of maiden special weights on October 14.  DOOHAN was reportedly no match for Caberneigh during their October 7 workout. Caberneigh is a four-year-old that finished seventh in the Grade 3 Sycamore Stakes on turf.  Trainer Tom Proctor is 0-22 with debuting juveniles in maiden special weight synthetic sprints.  REMAND and SAINTLY TALE both show bullet works within the last week.  The former, a speed-bred son of Successful Appeal, worked "in company with Nehru, both finished as a team on even terms," according to the Keeneland Clocker Report for October 23.  Nehru is an unraced juvenile.  Eight days earlier, the clocker noted that Remand "was going easily with Lyrical Star, galloped out very well in 1:14 3/5, and 1:29.0."  Lyrical Star is an unraced juvenile filly.  On October 9, Remand was "a bit better than Lyrical Star and Nehru, galloped out in 1:00."  He wouldn't be a surprise.  Saintly Tale gave a "good gate workout, in front of Provence and King of the Bluegrass," according to the Keeneland Clocker Report for october 25.  Both of those runners are unraced.  ROSSCAT shows several gate workouts.  Perhaps he has a little trouble exiting the stalls.  MAJOR AWARD shows a huge gap between the last two published workouts.
