Analysis:
PARK ACTION raced evenly in her career debut at Turfway Park, but she now drops in class for a barn that excels with second-time starters.  The runner-up of that September 26 race returned to finish third in a maiden special weight at Keeneland with a 68 Beyer.
QUIET HOME seemed exhausted during the final sixteenth of her most recent start at Turfway, and is going to have to stretch out another half-furlong this afternoon.  She drops 11 pounds with capable apprentice rider named, and should be one of the pacesetters.
SONNY BOYS GIRL, like the top pick, is making her first start in a maiden claimer, and she chased some fast splits last time out going two turns at Turfway.  She fits better at this level, and can come charging late at a price.
VANCY SHOES was reported as a vet scratch at Woodbine on October 11, and the plethora of workout lines aren't encouraging.  The third-place finisher of her last race returned to win a weak $10,000 maiden claimer on dirt at Pinnacle.
MESA ROSE needn't be the next Rachel Alexandra to contend this afternoon, and her workouts look solid enough for underrated barn.  DREAM MANAGER showed good speed in her debut, and now drops into a maiden claimer.  She must avoid a duel with horses like Quiet Home, DREAMINTOWIN, and POLLARD'S BABE.  Those two were pace presences in their most recent outings.  The former adds Lasix while Pollard's Baby will don blinkers.  THAT DARN KITTEN must improve off even turf debut at Kentucky Downs.  GRACEFUL PEGASUS finished ten lengths behind That Darn Kitten.  KNOW AND TRUST only sold for $1,200 as a yearling.

Analysis:
CHANTILLY NAYLA was no match for Amen Hallelujah in recent sprint over Arlington's polytrack, but that one flattered the race by returning to finish third in the Grade 1 Darley Alcibiades earlier in the meet.  Leading Midwest trainer Chris Block switches riders from Tanner Riggs to Julien Leparoux, and Chantilly Nayla may work out a trip from tracking range.
CUPID'S BEST needed a drop to the $25,000 level at Arlington to win her maiden, but the Illinois-bred earned a solid Beyer Speed Figure, and two horses came out of that race to graduate.  It's nice to see the recent five-furlong workout, and her stalking style should come in handy as the race is full of pace players.  RAVINABOUTGREATNES took some money for her career debut on dirt at Hawthorne, and she rewarded her fans with an open-lengths score.  She flew home after pressing a slow pace, but may have to go a bit faster early in her first start on synthetics.
MISSION VOW took advantage of a speed-favoring Arlington main track when going gate-to-wire as the favorite.  She draws outside here, and may have to revert to stalking tactics in her first start off the Steve Margolis claim.  The runner-up from that September 11 race at Arlington returned to win here around two turns for a $50,000 tag with a 55 Beyer.
BWANA Z was no match for Chantilly Nayla at Arlington, but she makes the important second start of the form cycle for powerful connections, and may be a bit tighter for this assignment.  She had to work hard in the early stages last time, and may be the speed of the speed this afternoon.  RATTLIN GYPSY only finished three lengths behind the runner-up in the Bassinet at River Downs last time out.  The only other time she was entered for a tag, she ended up a gate-to-wire winner at Arlington, although she wasn't very visually impressive.  DRAGONVILLE goes out for hot barn, and showed some professionalism by rallying from off the pace to win her debut at Turfway Park.  These are tougher.  TAPITFORPAR adds Lasix, but seems slow on the numbers.  PINFISH needs a Beyer upgrade.

Analysis:
PROTESTING's three-quarter brother, Parading, won the Grade 3 Ben Ali Stakes over this course and trip earlier in the year, and that gives us some hope that Protesting will handle her synthetic, and two-turn, debut.  She was knocked sideways at the start of her most recent race at Belmont, and of the two horses to return from that heat, one won on grass at 43-1, and the other placed on turf at 10-1.  That maiden special weight in New York was faster than the off-the-turf Miss Grillo for juvenile fillies at a mile run a half-hour later.  According to the Keeneland Clocker Report for October 19, Protesting "finished nicely under rider control, last quarter in 24."
SAINT AMORE earned the best-last Beyer Speed Figure after making a four wide move on the turn to get into contention.  She finished well for the place, and could offer some value moving to the synthetic for the first time. She worked quickly over the Safe-Track surface at Ocala earlier this year.
CHIMAYO, a $3.1M yearling purchase by Storm Cat, lures John Velazquez off Protesting.  She showed a good amount of improvement when stretched out to a mile at Belmont, and can move up even more with the additional distance.  She has been training over the synthetic surface at Darley Stable's Greentree Training Center, and looms a strong contender.
CAUTIONARY TALE didn't have an easy trip going two turns over this surface two weeks ago, and adds blinkers for barn that is on fire with their young horses.  The outside post may be cause for some concern.
C. S. ROYCE adds Lasix for her second lifetime start, but she must stretch out three furlongs while trying a new surface.  COFFEE RUN and PRIMROSE HILL are well-bred juvenile fillies trained by Todd Pletcher.  The former finished behind Chimayo after breaking awkwardly from the inside post in her career debut while Primrose Hill did not have an easy trip going two turns at Turfway Park.  Both can certainly improve enough to win this.  Coffee Run worked in company with Lost Soul, "the two finished well as a team," according to the Keeneland Clocker Report for October 17.  Lost Soul is a juvenile that finished fourth in his only start to date with a 56 Beyer.   CHAMPAGNE LADY couldn't finish with Primrose Hill at Turfway, but could benefit from a more patient ride.  UP IN LIGHTS makes the third start of the form cycle, but her Beyers are a bit light.  MAESTRO MISS and LAVA LADY may be in a tad steep.

Selections:
1.  Protesting  2.  Saint Amore  3.  Chimayo
