Analysis:
There's lots of pedigree in this race.  APPLE CHARLOTTE is by Smart Strike, a classy stallion that sired leading juvenile performer Looking At Lucky to a debut win over synthetic going earlier this year.  The dam was a grass specialist that has already foaled several blacktype runners including Claremont, a Point Given filly that won first-out at 5 1/2 furlongs.
WYN JYM is a half-sister to The Pamplemousse, one of the leading three-year-olds on the West Coast earlier this year before injury sent him to the sidelines.  The Pamplemousse excelled over synthetic surfaces, and this filly shows some interesting workouts leading up to her debut.
SO VERY HAPPY is kin to three blacktype performers including Dance Away Capote, the winner of the Grade 3 Noble Damsel Handicap on turf with a 104 Beyer Speed Figure.  The dam is a half-sister to the great handicap star Skip Away.  So Very Happy raced greenly in her debut at Arlington Park, but she was flattered somewhat when the runner-up that day returned to graduate on grass with a 62 Beyer.  She receives a nice rider switch to Robby Albarado, and may work out a good outside stalking trip.  According to the Keeneland Clocker Report for October 8, So Very Happy was "reserved early behind Hakamiah, easily moved by that one in the stretch, Leparoux up."  Hakamiah finished ninth in a $50,000 maiden claimer here on October 15.
YAY GO ME is by a precocious sire, but there are plenty of stout influences on the bottom of the pedigree.  She is a half-sister to Fairbanks, the winner of the Tokyo City Handicap on dirt at Santa Anita at nine furlongs with a 115 Beyer.  Yay Go Me reportedly worked in tandem with unraced runners Involved and Mort's Legacy on October 1 with Involved getting the better of the three.  Trainer Ken McPeek is having a nice meet, and sent out a big-priced juvenile debut winner earlier in the week.
THUNDERING HEAT wheels back on only eight days rest after mid-moving going two turns.  She acts like she'll appreciate turning back in distance, but needs major improvement to reach the winner's circle.  HIDDEN VALUE had high early speed, but may have to deal with VEUVE in the first quarter-mile.  She raced against the grain of a closer-friendly track at Saratoga on September 6, but has no synthetic form.  KATY NOW may be the one to beat as she finished second behind next-out Grade 1 Frizette winner Devil May Care over sloppy going at Saratoga.  How she'll handle polytrack is anyone's guess so demand value.  VEUVE figures to be hustled out of the gate by Terry Thompson, and she may be the pacesetter going into the turn.  She was no match for the runaway winner that day, and the runner-up returned to graduate by open lengths at Delaware with a 65 Beyer.  PORTEND made up late ground in her career debut on turf, and the winner of that heat returned to win a 'n2L' allowance over Keeneland's polytrack with a 63 Beyer.  Expect another solid late charge.  AHH, a $500,000
yearling, is a half-brother to Lone Star Sky, the 100 Beyer winner of the Northern Dancer Stakes at Churchill Downs.  Lone Star Sky also won his first two career starts as a juvenile including the Grade 3 Bashford Manor Stakes with a 95 Beyer.  FRIENDSHIP BRIDGE sold for a combined $100,000 as a weanling/yearling, but only went for $6,500 earlier in 2009.  OLIVIA'S TUNE was a reported vet scratch on September 26.

Analysis:
STAR RECRUIT received quite the education in her career debut at Presque Isle Downs.  After breaking three lengths slow from the gate, the half-sister to Delta Jackpot winner Z Humor was forced to weave her way through rivals on the turn before making an even three wide bid for third money behind 6-5 favored winner Jonmil's Edge.  Star Recruit finished ahead of two next-out winners in that race, and Jonmil's Edge returned to run third in the $100,000 Presque Isle Debutante.  The Presque Isle shippers have handled this surface quite nicely at the meet, and Star Recruit looms a strong factor off the promising debut.  The Keeneland Clocker Report for October 6 noted that Star Recruit "looked very sharp."
CAST CALL cost seven figures as a yearling, and that's no surprise considering she's a daughter of Grade 1 winners A.P. Indy and Shadow Cast.  Like Star Recruit, she fell way behind after breaking slowly in her career debut, but she picked up some horses late, and should move forward with that experience under her hat.  She shows some quick works over the synthetic surface at Darley's Greentree Training Center, and shouldn't be dismissed.
CACTUS CADILLAC seems to be improving with each and every start, and goes second off the layoff after just being nosed out at Turfway Park.  She's saddled with a difficult inside post this afternoon, and one could argue that she raced on the best part of the track last time out.
LYRIQUE's dam made a whopping 17 starts in four countries as a two-year-old, and she's already foaled the stakes-class turf runner Bluegrass Princess.  It looks like the $300,000 juvenile purchase has picked up the pace in her last couple of workouts.  The October 3 workout reportedly went in company with Alice's Smart, an older filly that won a 'n2L' allowance here the other day with a 93 Beyer.  The Keeneland Clocker Report for October 10 noted that she "easily bested My Kingdom Come from the gate."  My Kingdom Come is an unraced juvenile colt by Smart Strike.
ULTIMATE LIFE is bred to the nines as she's by A.P. Indy out of a quality Phipps family.  This barn is having an excellent year, and the most recent workout at Churchill Downs looks intriguing.  CONNIE AND MICHAEL is a half to a juvenile debut winner by a promising young sire.  ROYAL SEPTOR shows several gaps in the work tab, and may need a race.  STRINGALONG ran into a well-meant first-time starter at Turfway Park, and can improve off that run.  MISS N. V. looms a pace presence with the addition of blinkers, but she's hard to like off the cold form.  VALMENI finished evenly in her career debut, but the Beyer came back very light.  A couple of DICTATE THE TEMPO's workouts match up with Apple Charlotte, Graham Motion's first-time starter in the fourth race.  You may want to see how that one does before assessing this filly's chances.  ELAROSE has a beautiful pedigree, but it was a bit surprising that Barclay Tagg ran her on grass first time out, and she didn't do much at all.
