An Unbridled's Song filly, who worked in :10 flat at the under-tack preview show, sold for $700,000 to lead the way at the Keeneland April sale of 2-year-olds in training.

An Unbridled's Song filly who is a half sister to Grade 1 winner Eden's Moon brought the hammer down at $700,000 to lead the way early at the Keeneland April 2-year-olds in training sale, with agent John McCormack signing the ticket on behalf of an undisclosed client.

“For that kind of filly, you’d have to be thinking of that level,” McCormack said about the price. “She’s a nice filly, and she worked well.”

The filly, who breezed one furlong in :10 flat at the pre-sale under-tack show, was consigned by Ciaran Dunne's Wavertree Stables, agent. She was offered in the 2012 Keeneland September yearling sale, but she was bought back, with a final bid of $245,000.

“She was a wonderful filly from the day we got her,” Dunne said. “From day one, we knew she’d be a special offering. She’s out of a Grade 1 filly, by a super stallion. You just don’t see them in this marketplace, and then when she backed it up on the racetrack, it always felt like she was going to make a name for herself in the ring.”

The filly is out of the winning Giant's Causeway mare Eden's Causeway. Eden's Moon, the first foal to race out of the mare, captured the Grade 1 Las Virgenes Stakes and Grade 2 San Clemente Handicap last year. The daughter of Malibu Moon sold for $1,525,000 to Mandore International Agency at last November's Fasig-Tipton Kentucky fall mixed sale.

Eden's Causeway is a half-sister to champion Paradise Creek, Grade 1 winners Forbidden Apple and Wild Event, and to Paradise River, dam of Group 1 winner David Junior. Their dam, North of Eden, is a half-sister to champion Theatrical.
