LEXINGTON, Ky. – Seven 2-year-olds shaded 10 seconds for their one-furlong works in Thursday’s under-tack show for the Keeneland April select 2-year-old auction.

All seven breezed an eighth-mile in 9.8 seconds. They were Hip No. 9, a Lemon Drop Kid colt of Kooyonga’s daughter Kreisleriana, consigned by the Niall Brennan agency; Hip No. 46, a Giant’s Causeway colt out of the Kingmambo mare Raffishing Look, and Hip No. 117, a Mr. Greeley colt out of graded winner Cellars Shiraz, both from the de Meric Sales consignment; Hip No. 101, a Teuflesberg full sister to graded winner Trinniberg offered by the McKathan Brothers agency; and a trio from the Wavertree consignment. Those were Hip No. 11, a Tiznow colt out of Grade 2 winner Letgomyecho; Hip No. 106, a Mr. Greeley half-sister to graded winner Diabolical; and Hip No. 108, an Elusive Quality colt out of the Green Desert mare Brocatelle.

A single horse, Hip No. 144, posted the day’s fastest quarter-mile time of 20.4 seconds. That was the Kirkwood agency’s Speightstown colt out of stakes-placed Five Star Holding.

All breezes took place over Keeneland’s Polytrack oval.

The sale takes place at Keeneland on April 9 starting at 4 p.m.
