Keeneland April: Repole buys Bernardini colt for $500,000

Owner Mike Repole, with trainer Todd Pletcher acting as agent, went to $500,000 Monday evening to acquire a colt by prominent young stallion Bernardini at the Keeneland April 2-year-olds in training sale.

The bay colt, who was consigned by Ciaran Dunne's Wavertree Stables, agent, worked one furlong in :10:20 seconds over Keeneland’s Polytrack surface on Thursday at the pre-sale under-tack show.

The colt is out of Grade 3-placed, stakes-winning Thunder Gulch mare Jaramar Rain, who is the dam of four winners from five to race, including Grade 2-placed Imperial Council and stakes placed Minesave.

Jaramar Rain is a half sister to stakes winner Harbor Mist and stakes producer Carson's Star.

mike, ????????????????/ stick to claiming high priced claimers off of lousy trainers. get rid of pletcher and stick with levine. remember your roots. i guarantee you that at least 1/2 of the 500k went to the bloodstock agent and friends. start having fun again. to prove my point, take all the $$$ you have spent on yearlings and deduct their NET earnings after all expenses.. also what % of them have NOT made it to the races. they saw you coming and now it's time to get back to what you know best. the claiming game.
