Keeneland April: Arch colt fetches $535,000

A colt by Claiborne Farm sire Arch sold for $535,000 at the Keeneland April 2-year-olds in training on training Monday evening, with agent Steven W. Young signing the ticket.

The dark bay or brown colt, who was consigned by Eddie Woods, agent, worked one furlong in :10.40 seconds at the pre-sale under-tack show.

The colt is out of Mr. Prospector mare Falling Springs, dam of three winners from as many to race, including stakes-placed Easy Gallop. Falling Springs is a half sister to stakes winner and producer Aces.

The colt is the most expensive foal to sell at public auction out of his dam. He had already established himself with that distinction when selling for $125,000 at last year's Keeneland September yearling sale before topping his own mark in the same auction ring on Monday.
