Juddmonte stallion Three Valleys moving to Turkey

Multiple graded and group stakes winner Three Valleys, a Juddmonte Farm homebred, has been sold to continue his stud career in Turkey. The 9-year-old Diesis horse was purchased by Selman Tasbek to stand at his Tasbek Stud near Istanbul.

Three Valleys entered stud in 2008 at Juddmonte’s Banstead Manor Stud in Newmarket, England. He stood for 5,000 pounds, or about $8,085, in 2012.

“We always regret selling any of our stallions but felt that this was an opportunity for Three Valleys to further his international stud career in Turkey,” Banstead Manor Stud general manager Philip Mitchell told Racing Post.

Three Valleys won five of 16 starts, earning $665,695. He won the Group 3 Coventry Stakes and was twice Group 1-placed in Europe. Transferred to trainer Bobby Frankel in the United States, he won the Grade 2 Del Mar Breeders’ Cup Handicap in 2005, establishing a course record of 1:32.21 for the mile on turf, and the following year won the Grade 3 Oceanport Stakes at Monmouth Park, running 1 1/16 miles on the turf in a course-record 1:40.06.

From two crops of racing age, Three Valleys has sired 29 winners, including Group 2-placed Saint Bernard and stakes-placed Peccato di Gola, Sisiri, and The Nile.

Three Valleys is out of the Niniski mare Skiable, a half-sister to the great broodmare Hasili, who produced Grade 1 or Group 1 winners Banks Hill, Heat Haze, Intercontinental, Cacique, and Champs Elysees.
