Jp'shanna bankable off her last four starts

OLDSMAR, Fla. - Jp'shanna, a winner sprinting on the main track in her last two races, moves back to the turf course on Saturday as the probable favorite in a five-furlong optional claimer on turf for fillies and mares.

Pablo Morales will ride Jp'shanna, the 122-pound highweight in the feature, which is the last race of the 11-race program.

Trained by Barbara McBride, Jp'shanna faces several interesting challengers, including Wee Bit Fancy, who makes her first start for the Glenn Wismer stable after being claimed for $32,000 last time out from a third-place finish on the local turf.

Bikini Atoll has chased home some fast horses at this meeting, including Jp'shanna and Sarah's Image.

C B T Snakeye, who won two races here last year, will make her first start since September.

Jp'shanna, a win machine who has captured 10 of 28 lifetime starts, won 6 of 9 starts last season while confined mainly to starter allowance company at several tracks, including River Downs, Mountaineer, Ellis Park, and Presque Isle.

Since coming to Tampa, Jp'shanna has been a model of consistency, finishing second in both of her turf outings, then leading throughout a pair of five-furlong sprints on the main track.

Wee Bit Fancy is a well-traveled 5-year-old who has raced at tracks from Santa Anita to Tampa in a variety of sprinting company. The winner of a five-furlong turf sprint at Gulfstream Park in January that was run in a very fast 55.44 seconds, Wee Bit Fancy finished third here in her last race, a five-furlong turf sprint similar to Saturday's that was run in 56.22.

Bikini Atoll finished third to Sarah's Image last time, and was also second to Jp'shanna earlier in the meet in a race moved from the turf to the main track.

C B T Snakeye was claimed at Tampa for $32,000 last spring and went on to win two allowance races in Kentucky, one at Churchill and the other at Ellis Park. She has been training well for her 2008 debut.

Fast Hand won a sprint in her first race of the meet, defeating Jp'shanna and Bikini Atoll among others, and has had trouble lines in her last two races.
