Jones on a roll at stakes at Los Al

Trainer Paul Jones will go for his fourth consecutive stakes win when Be Real Quick, the 300-yard track-record holder, shoots for his own fourth straight victory in the $26,600 Kaweah Bar Handicap at 350 yards on Friday night at Los Alamitos.

Jones, the leading trainer at Los Alamitos, won the three minor stakes last weekend at Los Al - the Paradise, Harbor View, and Newport Beach handicaps.

Be Real Quick set the 300-yard Los Alamitos track record of 15.13 seconds on Jan. 2 when he won the Burbank Handicap as the 6-5 favorite. He backed up that effort on March 21 when he won the 300-yard Ocean View Handicap in 15.25 seconds, the sixth-fastest time ever at Los Alamitos.

Jones will also send out Miami Cartel, the defending winner of the Kaweah Bar, who came into the Ocean View off a six-month layoff and ran third behind Be Real Quick.

The deep Kaweah Bar field includes Sky Lane Pie and Deefirst, the third- and fourth-place finishers in the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Winter Championship.
