John W. Brown, a longtime chart-caller and correspondent for Daily Racing Form, died Thursday morning of congestive heart failure at age 73. Brown, a graduate of Ohio State University, began working for Daily Racing Form at the Chicago-area tracks in 1960 and remained on that circuit until his retirement in 1996. He was a resident of Woodstock, Ill. Brown is survived by his wife, Patricia; a son, Mike, a daughter, Lisa; and four grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by the Glueckert Funeral Home in Arlington Heights, Ill. A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Monday with a funeral immediately following. Burial will be at Memory Gardens in Arlington Heights.
