Jockeys' Guild elects new senate

The Jockeys’ Guild has elected its 27 senators, including seven new members of the body, the organization announced on Tuesday.

The nine new members are Russell Baze, Dennis Carr, Julien Leparoux, Leslie Mawing, Irad Ortiz Jr., Jesus Sanchez, and Elvis Trujillo. They will join Robby Albarado, Alex Birzer, Joe Bravo, Joel Campbell, G.R. Carter, Abel Castellano Jr., Javier Castellano, Jon Court, James Graham, Brian Hernandez Jr., Cody Jensen, Casey Lambert, Mike Luzzi, Glen Murphy, Edgar Prado, Rodney Prescott, Sheldon Russell, Mike Smith, Joe Talamo, Elvis Trujillo, and John Velazquez as returning members of the Senate.

The Guild’s senate determines the levels of dues and assessments for the organization. It also selects the organization’s board, including the chairman. Term of office is two years.

Time The Jockey lobby for reduced takeout. At the present rates the game will soon end everyone will be out of jobs.
