Jockey Lindey Wade reached a milestone of 1,000 Thoroughbred wins in North America on Sunday when he guided Firepit Queen to a 2 1/4-length win in the seventh race at Lone Star Park near Dallas.

The race went with three horses following the late scratch of Mischievous Misty.

Firepit Queen ($3.20) won her third straight race at the meet in the conditioned allowance sprint, with all of the wins coming under Wade. He was aboard for Richard and Karen Boyer and trainer Joyce Salisbury.

Wade is a 26-year-old native of New Orleans who won the first race of his career on May 17, 2007, at Louisiana Downs. He has since had 7,747 starts, with his mounts earning more than $18.6 million, according to Daily Racing Form records. Wade has won stakes with such popular horses as Ivan Fallunovalot, Supermason, Ibaka, and Nicks.

Wade is the son of two former jockeys, Rita Wade and Scottie Schello. He has won riding titles at Lone Star and Sam Houston.
