Jockey Club names five new members


SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Jockey Club has elected five new members, including Charles Hayward, the chief executive of the New York Racing Association, and Marylou Whitney, the New York philanthropist and owner-breeder, the organization said on Thursday.

The other members who were invited to join the organization were Madeline Auerbach, a California owner and breeder who founded the California Retirement Management Account; Nick Eaves, the president and chief executive officer of Woodbine Entertainment Group; and Johnny Weatherby, who oversees the stud books of Britain and Ireland and who is the chairman of the International Stud Book Committee.

The Jockey Club has approximately 110 members. The members are eligible to serve as officers of the organization.
