Jilly Bean Queen one of four for Wales

Jilly Bean Queen gave jockey Travis Wales his fourth win on the nine-race Arapahoe Park card on Sunday when she led throughout for a 1 1/4-length victory in the $23,100 Ruffian Stakes. The race was her first start since September.

Masters Crownjewel rallied for second, 1 1/2 lengths in front of third-place finisher Notimetobemad.

Jilly Bean Queen ($7.60) broke sharply in the seven-furlong race for 3-year-old fillies and led through an opening half-mile in 45.84 seconds. She was joined on the front end by Masters Crownjewel and Notimetobemad into the stretch, but dug in late and covered the distance on a track rated fast in 1:25.97.

Wales rode the winner for Mike and Todd Spencer and trainer Farrell Christoffersen. The jockey's other winners Sunday came in the first with Bee a Gem ($3), the second with Lucky Lo Lo ($18.20), and the fourth with Magicncourt ($5.60).
