Jilbab, winner of the 2002 Coaching Club American Oaks, died in June after colicking, Sheikh Mohammed al-Maktoum's Darley organization confirmed Wednesday.

An 8-year-old daughter of A. P. Indy, Jilbab died at the Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington, Ky. on June 27. She is the dam of one named foal, the unraced 3-year-old Storm Cat filly Abaya, as well as an unnamed yearling colt by Elusive Quality and an unnamed weanling filly by Awesome Again.

The Darley-bred Jilbab raced for the Maktoum family's Godolphin Racing program. Her win in the CCA Oaks was one of three victories for the mare. She also finished third in the 2002 Cotillion Handicap, a Grade 2 race, and fourth in that season's Alabama Stakes. She earned $347,880 from a record of 3 wins, 2 seconds, and 2 thirds in 9 lifetime starts in North America.
