Jet Away Jane gets the win

Jet Away Jane went from last to first to capture Tuesday's $75,000 Langhorne Stakes for fillies and mares at Philadelphia Park.

Although she was sixth after the first quarter-mile and fifth following a half-mile in 44.83 seconds, Jet Away Jane ($8.80) was just three lengths off the hot pace set by Devil House, the 9-5 favorite.

Devil House gave way at the top of the stretch to Oelectra, a 9-1 shot ridden by Jeremy Rose. Jet Away Jane, under Angel Rodriguez, finished fastest of all to draw clear of another off-the-pace finisher, You Asked, by two lengths. Oelectra held third.

Devil House and S W Aly'svalentine, the second choice at 5-2, finished fourth and fifth.

A 6-year-old trained by Thomas Miller for Golden Oak Farm, Jet Away Jane has now won 8 of her 24 starts, including back-to-back stakes. She completed the 6 1/2 furlongs of the Langhorne on a fast track in 1:16.24.
