Jeannine Edwards returns as Eclipse Awards host

Jeannine Edwards, the ESPN reporter and horsewoman, will once again host the Eclipse Awards ceremony, scheduled for Jan. 17 at Gulfstream Park Racing and Casino in Hallandale Beach, Fla.

This will be the fourth consecutive time that Edwards has hosted the ceremony, which honors the horses and humans selected for year-end Eclipse Awards.

Edwards, who has reported for ESPN since 1995, spent 10 years at the racetrack as an exercise rider, apprentice jockey, and trainer of Thoroughbreds in Maryland before launching her broadcast career.

she is preetty slick and no stranger to the game,i would like to hear explain how bayern doesnt get horse of the year. it will be embarassing for a bc classic winner with other graded wins not get horse of the year. lets face it the writers will vote against bayern since they justifably will not certify his win in the classic, it will even show further the descision by three blind mice was not the right one and maybe restore some credibility to our sport. this is the first time i will be interested in horse of the year voting. without the controversial start in the classic and a cleanly run race, bayern would be a mortal lock for horse of the year(undisputed) but alas the start!! lots of fun and controversy awaits
