Jac's Fact won five stakes during his 2015 campaign to earn Ohio-bred Horse of the Year honors.

Jac’s Fact, a five-time stakes winner during his 4-year-old campaign in 2015, dethroned two-time Ohio-bred Horse of the Year Needmoreflattery during Saturday night’s annual awards banquet of the Ohio Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners at Darby Dan Farm in Galloway, Ohio.

Raymond Donald, who was honored as the state’s top breeder of Ohio-accredited Thoroughbreds, is the breeder and owner of Jac’s Fact. Trained by Ivan Vazquez, Jac’s Fact won 7 of 14 starts and $303,996 last season to earn recognition as Ohio-bred Horse of the Year. In seven stakes appearances, he recorded five wins, one second, beaten a head, and one third.

Kentucky Dane, the sire of Jac’s Fact, was named champion stallion.

Needmoreflattery had to settle for champion handicap mare after a season in which she went 5 for 10 with earnings of $290,190. She won four stakes, finished second in two other stakes, and picked up one third in added money events.

Kiosk, the dam of Needmoreflattery, was named champion broodmare.

Bruce Ryan and Blazing Meadows Farm were honored as the state’s leading breeder and owner.

Other champion horses were: School Board Prez, 2-year-old filly; My Pardner Cal, 2-year-old colt; Alliseeisgold, 3-year-old colt; Justalittlesmoke, 3-year-old filly; Ohio-accredited female, Deniro’s Saint; Blazing Charcoal, Ohio-accredited male; and Rivers Run Deep, sprinter.
