Jackson making $100K donation to day care center

Jess Jackson, the majority owner of Curlin, will donate $100,000 to Anna House, a day care facility located on the grounds of Belmont Park. Jackson's wife, Barbara Banke, was scheduled to make the presentation Saturday morning, hours before Curlin was to run in the $750,000 Jockey Club Gold Cup, attempting to become North America's all-time money earner.

"Curlin has had much success in New York both in Saratoga and Belmont so it is fitting that we should make a donation to Anna House on the day he attempts to make history," Banke said in a press release. "His success on the track has helped education and children's charities throughout America."

The donation will go to the Anna House tuition fund. The Anna House facility is for the children of backstretch workers at Belmont, Aqueduct, and Saratoga.
