Jackpot carryover in pick six grows to $116,092

DEL MAR, Calif. – Four favorites prevailed in the pick-six sequence on Thursday at Del Mar, producing a $4,385.60 payoff for 81 winning tickets and allowing the single-ticket jackpot to grow to $116,092.

Entering Thursday’s races, there was a single-day carryover of $82,246 in the general pool, as well as a three-day carryover of $58,120 in the single-ticket jackpot pool.

A robust $506,402 in fresh money was bet into the pick six on Thursday.

Under the new rules at this meet in the pick six, 70 percent of the pool goes to those with six winners. If no one hits six, that money is carried over in the general pool.

Of the remaining 30 percent, half – 15 percent – is reserved for a single winning ticket and is referred to as the jackpot carryover.

The other 15 percent goes to those with 5 of 6 when six winners are hit, or those with the most winners when no one has six.
