Jack Milton will stand at Crestwood Farm in 2016.

Grade 1 winner Jack Milton will stand his first season at stud at Crestwood Farm in Lexington, Ky., for a fee of $6,500, and will participate in the “Share the Upside” program.

The 5-year-old son of War Front retired with five wins in 19 starts for earnings of $853,828, highlighted by wins in the Grade 1 Maker’s 46 Mile Stakes at Keeneland, as well as the Grade 3 Poker Stakes at Belmont Park and Transylvania Stakes at Keeneland. He was second in the Grade 1 Woodford Reserve Turf Classic and third in five additional stakes, including two Grade 1 races.

Todd Pletcher trained Jack Milton for owner Gary Barber.

Bred in Kentucky by Seth Hancock’s Cherry Valley Farm, Jack Milton is out of the unplaced Forty Niner mare Preserver, whose eight winners from nine foals to race includes Grade 3 winner Peace Preserver, Grade 3-placed Stake and My Rachel, and stakes-placed Dig Alittle Deeper and Tequila Bound. Jack Milton’s extended family includes champion War Pass, Grade 1 winner Karlovy Vary, Grade 3 winner Country Light, Grade 2-placed Tourney, and Grade 3-placed Allied Air Raid.

Jack Milton will stand as property of Barber and Pope McLean, owner of Crestwood Farm. The deal was brokered by McCann Bloodstock and Bluewater Farm.
