J. B.'s Thunder heads late-morning Breeders' Cup workers


LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Another series of important Breeders' Cup workouts took place both on the main track and turf course following the renovation break Monday morning at Churchill Downs.

On the main track, J. B.'s Thunder (Juvenile) worked four furlongs in 49.80 in company with stablemate Heritage Hall. Eclipse Award winner Informed Decision (Filly and Mare Sprint) looked good, going a half-mile in 47.46 under Julien Leparoux, while Unrivaled Belle (Ladies' Classic) followed a one-mile gallop with a five-furlong breeze in 1:03 with Kent Desormeaux in the saddle. Other main-track workers included Acting Happy (Ladies' Classic), a half in 49, and Sweet August Moon (Filly and Mare Sprint), three-eighths in 35.58.

The turf course was firm and busy with six prospective Breeders' Cup starters breezing shortly before 10 a.m. They were, in order, Sidney's Candy (Mile), five furlongs in 1:00.89; Al Khali (Turf), five furlongs in 1:01.51; Banned (Juvenile Turf), five furlongs in 1:02.62; Forever Together (Filly and Mare Turf), five furlongs in 1:00.86; California Flag (Turf Sprint), three-eighths in 36.65; and Proviso, four furlongs in 52.
