Ittakestwobaby stretches out

Email

Ittakestwobaby will get his first distance test when he heads a field of seven Nebraska-bred 3-year-olds going a mile in the $20,000 State Fair Breeders' Special on Saturday at the Lincoln State Fair.

Ittakestwobaby had his three-race winning streak stopped by disqualification in his last start, when he was placed second for causing interference in the six-furlong Journal Star Stakes on May 24. Prior to that, he had won the Bachman, Baxter, and Fonner Park Special stakes at Fonner Park this spring. Trainer David Anderson stretches Ittakestwobaby out to a mile in this spot, and he should be a strong favorite to regain his winning ways.

Anderson will send out an uncoupled entry in the Breeders' Special, with Tellin on You a possible threat to the top choice. He comes in off a nose loss against entry-level allowance company going six furlongs May 26 and may be able to rate just off the pace as he also makes his first start at the distance.

Johnny Five, trained by Richard Esquibel, was the nose winner over Tellin on You and also deserves a good look in this spot. He has won 2 of 4 starts this year and is likely to be on the pace with Ittakestwobaby.
