Invisible Ink second in return

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. - Invisible Ink finished second in his first start since the Belmont Stakes last June, rallying to finish 4 3/4 lengths behind He's a Knockout in a $40,000 allowance race Wednesday at Gulfstream Park.

Trainer Todd Pletcher said he was "delighted" by the runner-up finish by the 2-1 Invisible Ink, whose top career effort was a second-place finish behind Monarchos in the Kentucky Derby in May.

"It was everything you look for in a comeback race. The winner just happened to run a hole in the wind."

He's a Knockout ($5.60), trained by Graham Motion, finished seven furlongs over a fast track in 1:21.77, easily the fastest at the distance at the 60-day-old meet.

Pletcher said he had no particular race in mind as a next start for Invisible Ink, who had been away since running fifth in the Belmont. "Obviously there are a lot of options," he said.

* The pick six finally was hit Wednesday at Gulfstream after a three-day carryover. Tickets with all six winners paid $39,970.20, while five of six paid just $145. Only one longshot (Devil's Fantasy, a 22-1 shot) was part of the ticket.
