Invincible Spirit’s fee raised at Irish National Stud


Prominent European sire Invincible Spirit will stand the 2014 breeding season for a fee of 70,000 Euros, or about $94,650 in U.S. funds, the Irish National Stud in Co. Kildare, Ireland, has announced.

Invincible Spirit, a 16-year-old son of Green Desert out of French Oaks winner Rafha, by Kris, was a Group 1 winner on the racecourse and has become one of Europe’s most successful sires over the past several years. His fee for next season represents a raise from 65,000 Euros in 2013.

Invincible Spirit is the sire of 72 stakes winners from eight crops of racing age, and his best runners include champion Moonlight Cloud, a three-time Group 1 winner in 2013; 2007 French Derby winner and young sire Lawman; and 2009 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner Vale of York.

Multiple Group 2 winner Worthadd is a new addition to the Irish National Stud roster for 2014, and will stand for 6,000 Euros (about $8,100).

The roster is completed by Big Bad Bob and Dragon Pulse at 6,000 Euros; Lord Shanakill at 5,000 Euros ($6,750); and Art Connoisseur and Famous Name at 4,000 Euros ($5,400).
