Indy Wind seeks repeat in Frisk Me Now


Indy Wind, a three-time stakes winner in New Jersey last season, returns to Monmouth Park on Saturday to defend his title in the $70,000 Frisk Me Now Stakes at a mile and 70 yards.

A year ago, Indy Wind fired fresh following a 3 1/2-month layoff, rallying from 13 lengths back to win the Frisk Me Now by 1 3/4 lengths. He comes into this year’s race after a break of 2 1/2 months and owns a

5-for-9 lifetime record over Monmouth’s main track.

At age 6, Coyoteshighestcall is in peak form, posting three consecutive triple-digit Beyer Speed Figures (102-103-104) in his last three starts. He comes off a second-place finish in the Brandywine at Delaware Park, but is cross-entered in the $75,000 Slipton Fell Handicap at Mountaineer.

* Beau Dare switches from a Grade 2 stakes on Aqueduct’s inner track to a turf sprint in the $60,000 Candy Eclair Stakes for fillies and mares at 5 1/2 furlongs.

Although only 2 for 14 lifetime on grass, Beau Dare ran three consecutive good races when switched to turf sprints last season, including a pair of seconds in stakes at the Meadowlands.

Her competition includes Bikini Atoll, who won back-to-back grass sprints at Tampa Bay before running poorly in the mud last time out at Pimlico, and Anofficerandalady, winner of her turf debut in the five-furlong P.G. Johnson last October.
