Indiana Downs: Unreachable Star, Ms. Smitty win Wednesday stakes

Unreachable Star, under Marlon St. Julien, made an impressive move in the stretch and ran down his 10 Indiana-sired opponents to win the $89,250 William Henry Harrison at Indiana Downs Wednesday evening. In the other stakes on the card, Ms. Smitty came from just off the pace to take the $88,000 Shelby County against Indiana-sired fillies and mares.

Trained by Tim Glyshaw, the 9-year-old Unreachable Star was ninth early in the six-furlong event before making a midtrack move and winning by a neck. Pass the Crown moved alongside the winner but could not get past late and finished second, a neck in front of pace-setting Dread the Pirate in third.

Ridden by Marlon St. Julien, Unreachable Star ran the six furlongs in 1:10.73 over a fast track and returned $9.80 to win

St. Julien also rode Ms. Smtty to victory in the Shelby County. They sat behind the quick early pace of favored Facey's Spirit before drawing off to win by six and a quarter lengths. Facey's Spirit settled for second, a half-length in front of longshot Indy Pie in third.

Trained by Cindy Huber, Ms. Smitty ran the six furlongs over a fast track in 1:10.12 and returned $7.20 to win.
