Indiana Downs: Buster Rose connects as even-money favorite in Snack

Buster Rose was kept just off a quick pace early by jockey Tommy Pompell, then rallied on the turn and drew off to win by 2 3/4 lengths in the $87,750 Snack for 3-year-old Indiana-breds at Indiana Downs on Saturday evening.

Trained by Mike Maker, Buster Rose ($4) bested seven other statebred colts and geldings while covering six furlongs on a fast track in 1:09.73. Pacesetting Bellamy Jones, part of the Bob Gorham entry, finished second, three lengths in front of Long Bomb.
