Indian Blessing won't run

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Indian Blessing, a two-time champion, will not compete in the Grade 1, $300,000 Humana Distaff on Saturday at Churchill Downs, trainer Bob Baffert said Tuesday morning.

Indian Blessing worked a half-mile in 48.20 seconds at Churchill on Tuesday. Afterwards, Baffert said she "didn't have the energy."

"She worked fine, but I don't think she's ready for it," Baffert said. "I don't think the energy is there."

Indian Blessing ran just five weeks ago in the United Arab Emirates, finishing second in the Dubai Golden Shaheen.

Indian Blessing, 4, was the champion 2-year-old filly of 2007, and last year was voted champion female sprinter.
