Inagoodway and jockey Curtis Kimes win the More Than Even Stakes by 2 1/4 lengths.

Inagoodway gave trainer Roger Engel a sentimental win on Monday, darting to a 2 1/4-length victory over 3-5 favorite Hailstorm Slew in the $55,000 More Than Even at Will Rogers Downs. Engel trained the race’s namesake, an eight-time stakes winner who earned $563,087.

Engel also sent out the third-place finisher Monday in Chaparella.

The More Than Even was for fillies and mares bred in Oklahoma. The race was renamed for the mare this year. It is the former RPDC Classic, which More Than Even won twice. She is now retired and has a foal by Curlin, according to Engel.

Inagoodway ($20.40) was winning her third straight race Monday. She tracked Jjs Pearljam through an opening quarter in 22.21 seconds, then took over through a half-mile in 46.72 and maintained her advantage through six furlongs in 1:11.18. Inagoodway went on to cover the one mile and 70 yards on a fast track in 1:41.23.

Curtis Kimes was aboard for partners Steve Dupy, Kent Blair, and Mike Caster.

Inagoodway began her streak on March 22 in a first-level allowance at Will Rogers. She then rolled by 5 1/2 lengths in a $15,000 claiming race at the track April 17. The More Than Even was the first stakes win for Inagoodway, a daughter of Save Big Money.

Inagoodway has now won 5 of 10 starts. She earned $32,856 in the More Than Even to push her career earnings to $112,662.
