Impossible Time finishes fast at Woodbine

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Impossible Time mowed down the leaders at the sixteenth pole to notch her first stakes in the six-furlong, at Woodbine on Saturday.

Impossible Time ($10) took the long way around from the back of the pack to score by 2 1/2 lengths over the pacemaker, Dash It Dreamer. Favored Bent Attorney finished another half-length back in third in the eight-horse field of Ontario-sired fillies and mares.

Jono Jones rode the Roger Attfield-trained Impossible Time, who covered the distance in 1:08.79 and earned $75,000 for owner/breeder Charles Fipke.

"She's a lovely horse to ride," said Jones. "She's in good form."

* Embur's Song stamped herself as the one to beat in next month's Woodbine Oaks with an impressive score under Chantal Sutherland in the third race Saturday. Trained by Todd Pletcher, Embur's Song led throughout the mile and a sixteenth first-level allowance, covering the distance in 1:42.44, just .22 off the Polytrack record.

"She's awesome," said Sutherland. "She's very athletic, but she's still very green. She's just going to get better and better."
