Iknowyouthinkimsexy tops Sales Futurity

Iknowuthinkimsexy, the sales topper of last spring's Evangeline Downs 2-year-olds in training sale at $135,000, is the one to beat in the filly division of the $100,000 John Franks Memorial Sales Futurity Friday night. The Steve Asmussen charge will square off against 10 rivals at 51/2 furlongs.

A winner at first asking in a trial for the $130,000 D. S. "Shine" Young Futurity on June 8, Iknowuthinkimsexy finished third in the finals three weeks later while favored at 4-5 along with an entrymate. Most recently, the daughter of Count the Time crossed the wire second in the $100,000 Laurel Lane for Louisiana-bred fillies at Louisiana Downs on July 21 following an eventful stretch run. Ridden by Jamie Theriot, Iknowuthinkimsexy came in and bothered a fellow pacesetter past the furlong marker. She then came out to hinder another rival in deep stretch. Following a lengthy stewards' inquiry, she was disqualified to fourth. Asmussen has given the call Friday to Gerard Melancon.

Swifty Victress, the upset winner of the filly division of the Shine over Iknowuthinkimsexy and nine others, will seek to stretch her two-race win streak, which began with her win in a qualifying trial for the Shine.

Trained by Anthony Agilar, Swifty Victress has improved in each of her last two starts following a fifth-place performance in her debut in late May. Agilar has given the return call to Sylvester Carmouche Jr.

Tibbytyme, the only other winning member of the Franks cast, comes off a pair of sixth-place performances behind Swifty Victress in the Shine and Iknowuthinkimsexy in the Laurel Lane.
