Idiot Proof to Victory Rose Thoroughbreds

Grade 1 winner Idiot Proof has been acquired by Victory Rose Thoroughbreds and will relocate to the Vacaville, Calif., farm for the 2014 breeding season.

The 9-year-old son of Benchmark previously stood at Ballena Vista Farm in Ramona, Calif. He is represented by his first crop of racing age in 2013, with four winners from his first five offspring to race.

Idiot Proof was a leading sprinter, winning five of 17 starts for earnings of $1,294,484. His two graded stakes wins were both track record-setting efforts at six furlongs, winning the Grade 1 Ancient Title Stakes at Santa Anita and the Grade 3 Jersey Shore Breeders’ Cup Stakes at Monmouth Park. He finished second in the 2007 Breeders’ Cup Sprint at Monmouth, and was the runner-up in the Group 1 Dubai Golden Shaheen the following year.

Bred in California by Pam and Martin Wygod, Idiot Proof is out of winning Bertrando mare Perfectly Pretty, who has produced five winners from as many foals to race.

Idiot Proof will stand for an advertised fee of $1,500. He joins Bold Chieftan, Globalize, Indian Evening, Many Rivers, and Sea of Secrets on the Victory Rose Thoroughbreds stallion roster.
