Grade 1 winner Idiot Proof was represented by his first winner on March 18, when On Autopilot won a maiden race by 3 1/2 lengths at Hipodromo de las Americas in Mexico City, Mexico. On April 11, his first stateside winner surfaced when Frisco Fog took a two-furlong maiden special weight event at Golden Gate Fields.

On Autopilot, 2-year-old filly, out of the stakes-winning Half Term mare Wireless Flight, completed her 2 1/2-furlong race in :27.60 seconds. Bred in California by James Weigel, On Autopilot is owned by Cuadra Phoenix and trained by Enrique Garcia Perez.

Frisco Fog, a bay filly out of stakes-placed winner Point Break, by Summing, broke sharply in Thursday's opener at Golden Gate and drove clear to a 2 1/4-length win. She covered a quarter-mile in :21.39. Frisco Fog is campaigned by Glen Road Racing, LLC, Seamist Racing, LLC, and Carina Jauregui. Bred by Ballena Vista Farm in Ramona, Calif., she is a half-sister to stakes winner Cee's The Point.

Idiot Proof, a 9-year-old son of Benchmark, stands at Ballena Vista for an advertised fee of $1,500. He was the first foal out of the winning Bertrando mare Perfectly Pretty, who has produced five winners from as many to race. Idiot Proof’s first crop of racing age features 17 foals.

Bred in California by Martin and Pam Wygod, Idiot Proof won five of 17 starts during his racing career for earnings of $1,294,484. His biggest win came in the 2007 edition of the Grade 1 Ancient Title Stakes, where he set the Oak Tree at Santa Anita track record of 1:07.57 for six furlongs. Earlier that year, he set the six-furlong record at Monmouth Park, winning the Grade 3 Jersey Shore Breeders’ Cup Stakes in a time of 1:07.47. Idiot Proof also turned in runner-up finishes in the 2007 Breeders’ Cup Sprint and the 2008 Dubai Golden Shaheen.

Frisco Fog is a nice horse. If they were smart they would kick him out for 60 days then get him ready for fall stakes races..
