Ide Like a Double back home

The $60,000 Acclaim Stakes for Louisiana-bred 3-year-olds at Evangeline Downs goes with a full field of 14, who will go seven furlongs.

Ide Like a Double, unplaced in the Grade 3 Lone Star Derby and third in the Northern Spur Stakes at Oaklawn in his last two starts, returns to his home state for the first time since a 7 1/4-length win in the Crescent City Derby in late March at Fair Grounds.

Bluehard, a speedy son of Smart Strike trained by Frank Leggio, is coming into the Acclaim off a front-running score in the Free Spirits Joy Stakes at Louisiana Downs on May 17. He earned a lofty 100 Beyer Speed Figure that day to validate an impressive first-level allowance score here May 2.

Trainer Steve Asmussen will send out the entry of Cubera and Snug for the Heiligbrodt Racing Stable. Snug was victorious in the restricted Texas Stallion Stakes at Lone Star in his most recent start, and Cubrea won the Louisiana Futurity at Fair Grounds last December.
