I Got a Answer comes into his own

Perhaps getting away from Son of a Bear was all I Got a Answer needed.

After finishing behind Son of a Bear in three consecutive races, including a 19-length drubbing in a division of the Tri-State Futurity three weeks earlier, I Got a Answer didn't have to face his nemesis in Saturday night's $62,537 West Virginia Futurity at Charles Town.

Part of a four-horse pack that was separated by three-quarters of a length at the eighth pole, I Got a Answer ($9.80) drew clear in deep stretch to win by 2 1/4 lengths under jockey Matt McGowan. A homebred son of Luftikus owned and trained by John Casey, I Got a Answer completed the seven furlongs on a fast track in 1:29.18 while winning for the second time in eight starts.

The maiden Clarke County, part of a three-horse entry favored at 4-5, nosed out the pacesetter Showmethetrick for second.
