Here's my race-by-race rundown of Sunday's pick four at Woodbine on June 24, 2012. I'm building my wager with TicketMaker, found exclusively on DRF.com. Bet increments are $0.50, and my budget is $100.
Race 9 (Allowance race)
GUEST APPEARING (#4) has been knocking on the door with two good outings after a long layoff and had a poor draw on each occasion as well. He lands a better post here and may be set to bust through. PSYCHOTHERAPY (#1) makes his first start in 11 months but flashed talent when last seen. EGBERT JESTER (#2) got a feel for a route last time and may improve.

Race 10 (The Queen's Plate Stakes)
STRAIT OF DOVER (#4) is no doubt the one to beat, having won four straight, including a monster win in the Marine here May 12. He has speed and versatility to give his rider options. Strong works since his last say he’s thriving. RIVER RUSH (#1) looked super blasting rivals in the Plate Trial despite a poor draw. He’ll be coming. GOLDEN RIDGE (#7) looks like a comer for Casse off a super maiden win. He has worked strongly since.

Race 11 (Allowance race)
SIR MCINTYRE (#5) ran on smartly in a spot like this here and looks like a horse who may be ready to peak. MIAMI DECO (#1a) came back from a lengthy layoff to be a sharp second in a race like this a few weeks ago and is the one to beat. ENDURING STAR (#9) had a miserable time of it at Churchill Downs last time but returns to his homebase, and while winless on turf has shown he can handle it. HEAD HONCHO (#11) has talent and is bred to handle turf.

Race 12 (Maiden Special Weight)
RINGSFORTHEGIRLS (#6) had a poor start in her debut but showed courage to get involved. A better start may do the trick. BEARAVIE (#7) is the proven commodity and one to beat off two good thirds in spots like this to start her career. CIBOULETTE (#4) is improving and has the field’s top Beyer (60). KAY’S GRACE (#2) debuts with some nice works for trainer Burry, who won with her last debut runner to the tune of $28.40.

My wagers
With TicketMaker I'm able to put greater emphasis on my "A" selections while still having coverage with my "B" and "C" picks just in case. This allows me to maximize my budget for this pick four (I came out $10 under my budget of $100).

Best Bets
CHASING MOONLIGHT was involved in a three-way skirmish for the lead and saved the place behind win machine Rigby ($2.70), matching his career top Beyer first time off the claim; this appears to be a much easier pace scenario assuming another alert break from the rail. The 9-year-old TEMECULA CREEK shook out the kinks to win big second time back from a short layoff, notching best number since last summer; David Jacobson 29% with 1-7 day wheelbacks in 2012-13. OVEREXTENDED clearly out of his element on grass in first start for current connections; mild rally behind 3-for-3 Hay Shares two back.
