Here's my rundown for each race: Race 6: Lady's Secret Stakes BLIND LUCK, the reigning 3-year-old filly champ, has been freshened since a game win over top-class Havre de Grace, who merely came back to beat boys in the Grade 1 Woodward at SAR so her quality is beyond question. Still, her deep closing style makes her tough to single. ULTRABLEND has really blossomed and is now a legitimate Grade 1 miss. Sheʼs got the versatility to give rider Flores options. ZAZU was only a neck behind ʻBLEND in the Grade 1 Hirsch at DMR Aug. 6 so she certainly fits well here. Sheʼs worked superbly since. (3 selections) Race 7: Goodwood Stakes ACCLAMATION tries to become the only horse besides the wonderful Lava Man to win Grade 1s on turf, synthetic and dirt. He handled fast dirt very nicely the only time he tried it and his superb current form should have him in the hunt all the way around. AWESOME GEM seems just about as good as ever at age 8 and heʼs at his best on fast dirt. COILʼs Travers run is a complete throwout. Heʼs much better than that and has worked as though there are no ill effects. GAME ON DUDE won the Grade 1 Santa Anita Handicap on this track March 5 so you know he likes it here and has the quality. (4 selections) Race 8 MR. MAKE BELIEVE finished full of run to just miss in a similar race at DMR Aug. 21. The Rock Hard Tens love the sod and this guy has worked well since. We'll take a stand with him. (1 horse) Race 9 COACH SICKIE has worked strongly for his debut and strong works for a Mullins firsters are a good sign. Heʼs kin to the very talented Grade 2-placed Smash. ADONIS D N A is another firster who has rehearsed well for his first run. CANDYʼS JEWEL looks plenty fit off a full work tab for Hollendorfer whoʼs superb first time out (25 percent) and is a full-brother to 2 multiple winners. FINAL VINDICATION posted a bullet :35 here Sept. 26 to indicate he has speed and heʼs a half to stakes winner Curiously Sweet. (4 selections) Race 10: Yellow Ribbon Stakes DUBAWI HEIGHTS validated her stature with a superb second in the Grade 1 Beverly D as it took the nationʼs top grass mare, Stacelita, to beat her. She returns to her backyard and figures tough with her tactical speed and versatility. HARMONIOUS was a victim of pace when fourth in the Grade 1 Mabee at DMR. She should get a better pace this time. (2 selections) Race 11 Tough to end the ticket with a single amidst a bunch of maiden claimers but SWEET PLEASURE looks the part. The daughter of Candy Ride comes off a good third at DMR Sept. 4 and surely appears headed the right way. It also doesnʼt hurt she catches a weak field.
