How to bet Betfair Hollywood Park's Pick 4 - Saturday, June 16, 2012
Email
Here's my race-by-race rundown of Saturday's pick four at Betfair Hollywood Park on June 16, 2012. I'm building my wager with TicketMaker, found exclusively on DRF.com.
Race 7 (The Cinderella)
TILDE (#5) came out firing to win her debut here, showing speed and guts. UNUSUAL WAY (#9) likewise ran big in her debut, using her speed to easily win. AWE’ SOME KITTEN (#2) has speed, an inside post from which to use it and was visually impressive leading all the way to win here last month. AWESOME ANNIE (#1) ran 2nd in her first 2 starts, showing ample ability.

Race 8 (Optional claimer)
AKKADIAN (#7) finished full of run to get 2nd here May 19, his first start in 7 months. With that under his belt he figures quite tough. His maiden win came on this course last year. ALLEY HONDRO (#10) has done his best work here and while this is his first start in almost 10 months he’s proven fresh and trainer Ellis is superb off the bench. FIRE WITH FIRE (#9) has been knocking on the door of late and may be ready to bust through, while ATTICUS JACK (#8) was a strong 2nd in his return here last month, his first start in 8 months, and figures tough. KEY DECISION (#5) is a potential bomb as he showed big ability in Argentina and may improve after dueling and fizzling in his U.S. debut here last month.

Race 9 (The Vanity Handicap)
INCLUDE ME OUT (#2) is the West’s top older distaffer with 3 straight big wins. She can reinforce her standing, facing some of the same gals she just beat. ELLAFITZ (#8) gave the top pick fits in the Grade 2 Everett and will make that gal come get her again.

Race 10 (Maiden claimer)
FRECLES GALORE (#14) has been knocking on the door for a while and a monster workout June 8 (6fs in 1:10.80) hints she’s ready to turn the corner. JENREN FITZ ME (#6) ran on well in her first 2 starts and gets blinkers. BRITEYEDNBUSHYTAIL (#3) just missed vs. $30K here June 7. This further drop makes her scary.

My wagers
With TicketMaker I'm able to put greater emphasis on my "A" selections while still having coverage with my "B" and "C" picks just in case. This allows me to maximize my budget for this pick four.

Michael Hammersly has no clue, has never had a clue and obviously will never have a clue

Best Bets
AQUINNAH returns to a route and she couldn't have found a much better spot as a horse who wants to be involved early, as the expected pace scenario figures to favor those runners with a little early zip and she appears to be quickest of them all out of the gate; should control the tempo, and that should lead to her running to her best figures. CHARMINGMEGAN has tactical speed and likes to win, a combination that makes her easy to like; should get first run at the top pick.
