Hotshots to hit Sunland

Two of America's hottest jockey-trainer combinations will participate in Saturday's $250,000 WinStar Sunland Park Oaks, as Javier Santiago will travel to the New Mexico track from California to ride Yearly Report for Bob Baffert and Steve Asmussen will have his No. 1 rider, Shane Sellers, fly in from New Orleans for the assignment on Sister Swank.

The one-mile Oaks drew 10 entrants on Tuesday.

Yearly Report won the Grade 2 Santa Ynez at Santa Anita in her third career start on Jan. 19, but has not raced since coming down with a fever. "We missed about a week of training with her, so this looked like a good place to try stretching her out," Baffert said by phone.

Santiago has been impressive in Southern California since his arrival two months ago and has won the Louisiana Derby aboard Wimbledon and the San Felipe on Preachinatthebar for Baffert.

Sister Swank finished third in the Grade 2 Silverbulletday at Fair Grounds under Sellers. Asmussen leads the nation in victories this year.
