Hot Talent wins Wonder Where

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Hot Talent remained unbeaten in three starts with an impressive victory at Woodbine in Monday's $250,000 Wonder Where Stakes, the third leg of the Canadian Triple Tiara.

Alpha Heat, coupled with Hot Talent in the favored Stronach Stable entry, set quick fractions in the 1 1/4-mile turf race for 3-year-old fillies. Ginger Gold, the 9-5 second choice, tracked the leader and assumed command on the far turn, as Hot Talent loomed into contention. Hot Talent hit the front in midstretch, and drew clear in the final furlong to win by 1 1/2 lengths over a closing Silver Nithi. Ginger Gold held on for third in the nine-horse field of Canadian-breds. The final time was 2:02.27.

The entry returned $4.50, and Hot Talent, who is trained by Malcolm Pierce, earned $150,000 in her stakes debut.
