Horsemen's Park: High Dice back

Email

High Dice, the 12-year-old Nebraska-bred veteran, returns to seek his fourth win in the $27,500 Who Doctor Who Stakes as Horsemen's Park rolls into day three of its four-day festival of racing.

High Dice won the inaugural running of this race in 2003, did not race in 2004, then has won the past two editions. Although he isn't in the dominant form of his younger days, the tough old gelding has been improving with each start this year and enters the race off a second-place finish in the State Fair Board Stakes at Lincoln on July 4.

High Dice has earned more than $350,000 in his 80 starts and has 21 wins for Herb Riecken, his breeder, owner, and trainer. Dennis Collins takes over the mount.

Riecken will also send out Cassanova Kid and Motrump as individual betting interests in the Who Doctor Who. But High Dice will be the featured attraction of this race.

Did, trained by Marv Johnson, ships in from Canterbury Park and should set the pace with Yuri Yaranga aboard. He comes into the Who Doctor Who off an allowance win on June 30 going five furlongs on turf.

Blumin Attitude won his maiden at Fonner Park this spring and then rattled off three more wins before stepping into stakes company. He was a troubled third in the State Fair Board.
